Carry Number Privacy Policy

Carry Number is a golf performance app that helps golfers track rounds, analyze practice, review swing content, and manage goals. Optional AI tools process data only after the user sees an in-app disclosure and explicitly allows AI data sharing. Cross-device social features and WHOOP connectivity are not enabled in the current launch release.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you create an account, enter profile or golf information, record rounds, write notes or prompts, or select media. We also collect information through device permissions you choose to grant, such as camera, microphone, photo-library, or location access. The app creates derived golf statistics from the rounds, shots, club selections, and practice information you enter. Carry Number does not send information to a third-party AI service unless you first grant the separate AI data-sharing permission and then start an AI request.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, sign-in provider identifiers, and basic profile details you provide.
• Golf and performance data: rounds, scores, shot tracking, club selections, practice notes, goals, achievements, tournament prep notes, and related app activity.
• Location data: approximate or precise location when you choose to use features such as nearby course search, GPS yardage, or map-based round tools.
• Media: swing videos or photos you choose to capture or upload for analysis.
• Local group-round data: names and scores you enter for golfers in a round are stored locally for that signed-in account in the current launch release.
• Device and usage data: app settings, diagnostics, crash information, and general usage events used to maintain and improve the app.

WHOOP data

The current launch release does not offer WHOOP connection and does not request WHOOP health or fitness data. If a future release enables this integration, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before availability, and access will require the user's authorization.

How we use information

• Provide core golf tracking, score, map, practice, and analysis features.
• Personalize insights, readiness recommendations, goals, and app experience.
• Authenticate accounts and keep your data associated with your account.
• Generate swing, performance, and practice feedback when you choose to use those features.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve app quality.

How information is stored

Carry Number stores golf records and preferences locally in an account-separated area on your device. Firebase is used for account authentication and for optional AI processing after consent. Some app data may remain on your device unless you delete the account, delete the app, or use available deletion controls.

Data retention and deletion

Carry Number keeps personal information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the app, maintain account records, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and improve app reliability.

• Account deletion: you can delete your account from Settings inside Carry Number. Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated app data from active systems.
• Local device data: some information may remain on your device until you delete the app or clear local app data.
• Backups and logs: limited information may remain in backups, security logs, crash logs, or audit records for a reasonable period before being deleted or overwritten.
• Legal or safety retention: we may retain information if required to comply with law, enforce terms, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect users and the app.

Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information. Authentication and infrastructure providers may process information needed to operate the app. Carry Number requires third parties that receive user data, including Google LLC, to provide the same or equal privacy protection described in this policy and required by applicable privacy rules. The additional uses Google permits for its unpaid Gemini service are disclosed below and occur only after you expressly allow AI data sharing.

Third-party AI processing

Carry Number uses Google LLC as a third-party AI provider through Firebase AI Logic and the Gemini Developer API. Before any AI transmission, the app identifies Google, describes the data and purpose, and asks you to choose “Allow and Continue” or “Not Now.” Declining sends nothing to the AI service. You can withdraw permission at any time in More → Settings.

• Swing Coach: if you allow AI sharing and tap “Done — Analyze Swing,” Carry Number sends the swing video you selected and the club, handedness, and camera angle you selected. The video may include your image, voice, surroundings, or other people in view. Opening the camera, recording, selecting, cropping, or trimming does not by itself send the video to Google.
• AI Caddie: if you allow AI sharing and submit a message, Carry Number sends your message and the relevant handicap, club-distance, goal, score, shot, practice, or recent-round information needed to answer it.
• Practice and round analysis: if you allow AI sharing and request one of these features, Carry Number sends the relevant scores, shots, club selections, statistics, goals, or practice information needed to generate the requested result.

Google processes this information to return the coaching, practice, round, or swing analysis you requested and to operate, secure, and prevent abuse of the AI service. Because Carry Number currently uses Google's unpaid Gemini service, Google may also use submitted content and generated responses to provide, improve, and develop Google products, services, and machine-learning technologies. Human reviewers may read, annotate, and process AI inputs and outputs for quality and product improvement. Google states that it disconnects this material from the Google Account, API key, and Cloud project before human review. Do not submit sensitive or confidential information, and submit media containing another person only with their permission. See the Gemini API Additional Terms and Google Privacy Policy.

Carry Number stores generated results and selected swing media locally with your account so you can revisit them. Google may retain and process request information as permitted by its service terms. Carry Number does not use your AI submissions to train its own models.

Cross-device friends, messaging, and leaderboards are not enabled in the current launch baseline. Local group-round information remains on the device unless a later, separately disclosed sync feature is enabled.

Your choices

• The current launch release does not connect to WHOOP.
• You can disable location access in iOS Settings.
• You can allow or withdraw AI data-sharing permission in Carry Number Settings.
• You can delete your Carry Number account from Settings inside the app.
• You can delete uploaded media or app data where the app provides deletion controls.
• You can request help with account deletion or data deletion by contacting support.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
